Let's get intentional about our wellbeing.

Welcome to the Well of Wellness 07

"We need to stop trying to fix the people, and start trying to fix work."

As controversial and provocative it might sound, it's important. 

We might have great wellbeing and recovery solutions, we might be smashing the stigma by sharing our mental health experiences, we might be educating people of the need to prioritise wellbeing. However, if a workplace culture makes its people feel unnecessary pressure and discrimination then all the wellbeing solutions in place are only a small plaster on a big wound. 

So here's what we can do instead: 

  1. Put humans at the heart of what you do and their wellness and health will follow naturally

  2. Empower your people. Give them the freedom, flexibility and trust they deserve. Treat them as responsible adults.

  3. It's not where we work form but how we value the people we work with.

  4. Those in leadership positions, or influencing those in Leadership positions, continue to push for a budget for wellbeing solutions, and keep pushing to make work a force for good for your people

  5. Think about your values in team, at organisation level, and in board rooms. Ask the question "Is work a life-enhancing experience for the humans that work in your organisation?" and see if you can make it.

  6. Be more human and create a more human workplace
