How do we broach a conversation when someone is struggling?
The simple answer is that a little bit of vulnerability goes a long way. If we can be bold and be brave and human to share how we're feeling when we're struggling, we create cultures of psychological safety where mental health is concerned.
In your team, I encourage you to share how you're feeling first, before asking members of the team how they are. Share what you've been doing to stay well or improve your mental health. This will encourage others to start sharing how they feel and reach out to ask for support when in need. Look out for each other and stay well.
